What’s the most difficult thing about starting your own business

What is the most difficult thing about starting your own business?

I was scrolling through Facebook and came across and post where over 548 comments had been made about their struggles in business. I didn’t read all 500 but I scrolled through a lot of them and responded to a few.

Some of the comment mentioned were:

  • Lack of confidence
  • Lack of marketing knowledge
  • How to ‘convince’ someone to buy their products
  • Money making activities in the daily task
  • Being Consistent
  • Chief of doing everything
  • Getting Clients
  • Money to fund their business
  • Who is their target market
  • Building trust for business
  • Technology
  • Trusting yourself
  • Making a decision
  • How to Promotion
  • Time
  • How to balance family life – work – School

Getting Started in Business

When people say they can’t find their customers, clients or people who want to build a business it is only because they are not paying attention to the needs of others.

Ouch…right?

Most people who are new in business are more concerned with how can I sell my products, how can I get someone to buy from me, how can I get…

Even though we all started a business to make money your first order in business is what can I offer to others that would serve a need they have.

What are the benefits of my products that would serve what group of people?

I talk about this a lot on the email list and you can get these pro tips Subscribe to the email newsletter

HOW TO BUILD AN ONLINE COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE THAT ARE EAGER TO BUY YOUR PRODUCTS & SERVICES

You are posting on social media but no one is liking, commenting or responding to your post. The ones who do are already in your company or the same business as you.

Scroll through your Facebook profile and see if it is something you would stop and read or does it look like a used car lot.

Your team is going to be watching what you’re doing, versus just listening to what you tell them to do.

If you are providing value and using attraction marketing you will see engagement because you are also talking back to the people who are seeing your page.

If you aren’t talking to at least 10 people a day your page will be hearing crickets on your social platforms.

You want to make whatever you’re doing fun, and if there’s any way that you can gamify it, you’re going to see some pretty amazing magic happen inside of your team and your own momentum.

Building a community of followers on social media is building connections, talking to the people who see your post. Find out what they like to read and post those topics.

My Facebook community is snarky, funny, sassy. When I post a drink from dinner or if I am going on a trip it will start and all-day conversation dialogue.

It wasn’t always like that but over time it has grown into a fun place to hang out. When I need to poll my page for a project or a webinar I ask some questions and watch what the comments are.

Then I use those comments – much like the group comments I was reading that sparked this blog post. People TELL you what they are struggling with. They tell you what they need help with. Then your job is to come in and provide the answers that will help them.

All you have to do is provide the answer to your community with a blog post, status updates, webinar, ebook about how your products or service can help with XYZ problem.

Like the women in this Facebook post, they are new to the business and clearly need guidance for what they need to be doing. It was the same for the clients that took the 12-week Freedom Masterclass that was recorded that you can now watch.

They had 12 steps to get them started and why it needed to be done to get the results they were looking for. The one who did the steps were generating their own leads and had immediate new connections on social media.

Lack of Business activity

Let’s be real honest here…

Most people who are struggling in business aren’t really struggling. They simply aren’t doing anything to build their business. You can’t build something you don’t know how to build. You need training.

When you start a job they train you on what you will be responsible to do. Someone will walk with you and point out each task until you understand and you can show them that you can do the work alone.

Yet people will start a business and try to figure it out on their own. It usually doesn’t end well.

I can show you how to get started building your business without losing your mind. You need a daily DMO – {daily method of operation}. Without it, you are scrolling Facebook and call it ‘working’.

If you’re in activity mode, even if it’s just a little bit every day, you typically will never experience the momentum fizzling out.

How to build an online community

There’s a certain type of person out there that are perfect for your services or product. Take out a sheet of paper and write down 10 things about the type of person you ENJOY talking too.

What topics do you like to talk about? Is this a male or a female? Is this your age group or older? What type of person would benefit from what you do?

Pro Tip: How to talk to your community

Here is your Assignment Task …
–> Go to google.
Type in Health Magazine (of course you can do this with any topic)
Hit search then looks at the ‘images’ only.

Magazines have hired professional editors and copywriters.  They pay these writers up to 10K to use words to capture their ideal readers. They have topics on the front cover that makes people want to purchase the magazine.

This will give you ENDLESS topics to talk about your products or service. You can use those headlines as questions to ask on social media to get a conversation started. You can use those headlines on a blog post, or in groups to gather a following.

Keep in mind it’s not what your products are, but what it does. That’s what people want to know.

Here’s the inside scoop on how I built my side-hustle business to six figures and created a community of raving fans – all while working full-time (and making time for my family, too)!

Your Online Community

If you have a Facebook group community that you’ve cultivated relationships and trust with…you now have a bunch of eyeballs that are eager to hear what you have to say and buy your stuff.

Without an online community, you wouldn’t have the opportunity to drop in and talk about your sales and offers.

You will not be every single person’s cup of tea but wonder if you got one new person a week -even once a month. It cost you nothing but time to connect because you provided true value that served your connections instead of trying to sell them something before you know if they needed what you had.

Inside groups tip: reading status updates, following people who are building a business you can learn the language of your clients. It takes time to learn this but when you do…

You will never… ever… run out of leads again for your business.
