Network Marketing has a long history of you tell two and they tell two to join your business to make the system work. All the years I have been connected to network marketing, finding two that are serious and truly want to hustle is digging for gold.
A very high percentage of people that join you in network marketing will never recruit or every tell one person about the opportunity. I don’t mean to bust your bubble but only 20% (and that is high) will ever succeed and make any money in network marketing. The other 80% are customers that provide volume to your business.
When you look at the numbers of who will recruit the numbers are even lower, more like 5%. There are people who love the culture of network marketing. They enjoy going to the meetings, listening to training calls, they buy training products, read books, buy scripts but they never use what they learn.
Jim Rohn has a classic explanation of this phenomenon and how it plays out in your MLM Business Opportunity. He says you can only expect maybe 1% of people to ever be truly working at 100% of their capabilities in this business. Realistically, you’ll have some that work at 60% and quite a few more that will work at 30%. And then you have the customers that aren’t really working at all. Your goal is to understand it, accept it, and not expect the 30%ers to ever behave like the 60%ers or the 60%ers to ever behave like the visionary leaders.
Help those that DON’T recruit make money anyway.
Most people don’t like to ask friends and family to join them in a business (family and business doesn’t work well) Instead ask them if they could give you one referral that YOU can talk too that would be interested in an XYZ product. Your job is to enroll them under the person who referred them to you giving them volume. If they give you more than one referral let them know someone is going to be making money from the customer referrals and ask if they want it to be them.
Doing this helps your new customer get customer volume, a monthly order set up and your volume also rises.
Tap Root to Create Exponential Growth
If you bring in a person on the product and they discover the business, it doesn’t matter where they get their skills, the volume will benefit you all the way up the line.
You have a long line of customers in your organization that has not sparked as a business yet. One phone call from you could pour gas on the logs and get things smoking. I am sure you would not be mad if I made you an extra $500 dollar a month would you?
Ask for Referrals

I really like the way you broke things down in this post Angela and you honesty about how it all works.
The statistics are amazing really but they are real and its best to be truthful so people can make an informed decision.
Great post.
I would rather be up front that I had lead them to believe something false
So crazy that in 17 years I’ve never heard the specific term tap rooting BUT had figured that way for us was WAY more faster to do than wait for a leader to raise their hands. Working their network is so much more efficient than most people realize. Great share today Angela
The only one I have control over on my team is ME! When I do what I need to do for me and my success, there is a ripple effect down the line too.
Bingo – you are correct! Me is my only control button
I have found a lot of people who want to get started but they didn’t know how or who to reach out to for basic support.
I have had 22 results that came from this type of looking. They were all grateful I showed up
Great post! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for breaking it down. Sometimes we have to just taproot till we find the leaders we are looking for.
You are welcome. I am glad you enjoyed it
