Social Media: How to Get Started

#1 Social Media is a content world.

The manifesto for social media content is: what do you want to present to the world? You get to decide whether you will use the written word video, or podcasting.

The first step is to decide how you want to get your content out to the world and why you want to discuss it. What fires you up, and do you even want to share the information over and over?

I enjoy being an entrepreneur and have always used social media to connect with people. I enjoy sharing what I have learned with those on the same path. Some people will see my content – consume it – but not become a customer. Some will see my content and feel connected to me by what I share and want to connect either through a course or become a business partner ready for onboarding.

You get to pick how you will be presenting your message. I have always used blogging, podcasting, and short stories.

You can choose what you want and what drives you to do the work. – find something you enjoy. Allow your business to be FUN – not another JOB.

  1. Educate 2. Attract 3. Invite 4. Enroll 5. Teach over and over.

Step #2 Creating Daily Content

Where are you going to deliver? Currently, only three core ways exist to provide content to the world through the internet. Content marketing is not hard. It doesn’t have to be planned days and weeks ahead of time – in case you like that type of schedule. I don’t. Content is everywhere and once you see you can’t unsee it. There are three types of content.

1. Written word
2. Video
3. Podcast

Step #3 How will you push it to the world or distribution?

Here is a list of platforms offering free article publishing for the written word.

  1. Medium is a top-rated free publishing site where you can share your writing.
  2. Linkedin Articles (one of my favorites)
  3. EzineArticles (They have been around a long time)
  4. Scoop.It
  5. Issuu
  6. Yudo
  7. Article Alley
