Remember that Facebook doesn’t care about you

Over the last few weeks, there have been big accounts shut down on Facebook without warning. These were people who taught about building their business on a platform but also how to do things the right way and always made sure they played by the rules.

One morning she woke, as usual, grabbed her cup of coffee and logged in to her Facebook and the entire Facebook profile was GONE. 11 years worth of her online avatar poof gone. She had over 80 ad accounts she managed gone. All in one blink. Yes after many panicked phone calls she got her account reinstated but not her business manager. She can’t advertise on Facebook at all.

Facebook wants you to act and speak human. You know like a real person having conversations and sharing pictures about your life and not spamming your company products. If you have business all over your page I would suggest you start today by cleaning that up and making your page personal the way Facebook is meant to be.

Download all your Facebook Data…immediately.

I can not imagine how that would feel like when your content, your coaching, your live streams, posts, photos, and memories…just disappears.

1. Go to the top right of Facebook and click settings.
2. Click Your Facebook Information.
3. Go to Download Your Information and click View.

This way, you at least have something preserved in the event Facebook decides you’re not worthy of a digital footprint anymore

This is probably the hardest lesson of all. Facebook just doesn’t care. We are all using social media these days to connect with people around the globe that we would never have met without the social wave. I am and you are actually at the mercy of a company that doesn’t care one lick about me.

The only one who will protect me…is me. And you should think the same way.

Take control of your Business

Convert traffic you don’t control (social media) to traffic you own. To your email list like Aweber

Build your network on the software you can control and yes you will have to pay for it. I use a system called MLSP.

Hanging your whole business out on one platform is dangerous and you are giving control to people who do not know you or even care about you and your business.

This is something that is happening to a lot of people, and if you advertise or have advertised on Facebook, it may happen to you as well.

I don’t know how to stress this enough that your business is your net worth when you take control of it. Yes, it may be hard getting it set up in the beginning and confusing but in the long run, if you plan on staying in business it is worth your time getting things set up to run no matter what happens on a platform you don’t own.
