Digging down to find your Leaders

Taprooting in your business Why You Need To Know It

I was shocked at how many people aren’t using this technique. And so naturally, I want to help you find your leaders in your organazation.

This skill is used to help you locate leaders within your organization and/or through their connections. Many people in network marketing have the mindset that when they “recruit” or “sponsor” someone they belong to them. We do not “own” our customers. We take care them, we help them, we support them, we serve them.

I have used this all the way down my organization even on the non-pay legs to reach out to people. What did it do for me? Starting in November 2018 it took my organization to 1 million in sales in a single month!

Is that something you would like to do in your own organization?

WHAT IS TAPROOTING?

First, think of roots. A oak tree starts with a seed planted and as it is watered it starts to grow. A tall oak tree did not start out tall and strong it grew over time into this strong life force.

This is the same as your network marketing organization. Too often people focus on those closest to them in their ‘front lines’ – meanwhile, your best leaders may, in fact, level deep. I found that the ones who were ready to work a business were deeper down in my “legs” or organization that I could see. They are volume that rises to the top.

Those are the leaders we want to help you reach.

HOW TO TAPROOT IN NETWORK MARKETING

The network marketing industry is built on relationships. Having conversations, learning more about others – wants and needs – and how to serve others best. So, often there are leaders just waiting to flourish but haven’t had the support. I have reached out to people who had no idea they could reach out to me and some had no idea who I was.

Every single time they are grateful I took the time to reach out to them and give them some guidance.

Let’s be honest, there are tons of people who sign up their family and friends and then suddenly quit or move on. And as a result, these people are sort of just hanging out and hoping for the best.

When people quit the ones still hanging in there roll up. Someone on a lower level now could easily roll up to a pay leg.

This is where you come in.

PROTECT THE PERSON’S INTERESTS

This strategy should be used upon new enrolment of a new business partner. They’re fired up and excited, right? Stop them right there! Let them know you are so pumped for them but we want to make sure we get started the right way.

Give them a call
Send them a card
Send them a text

However you are reaching out to people. Get in touch with them.

Let them know someone else in the organization sees them other than the person who signed them up – welcome them – find out how you can help them or pull them into the upline system if you don’t have your own.

Walk them through what this could look like. Remind them how they got started – it was likely through a seasoned leader who already knew the ins, outs and how to handle objections of the business. Let your newest team member know you want the same for them.

The last thing you want them to do is blow through their warm market the wrong way. Because as we all know, this business is often built primarily on a hot and warm market approach.

Maybe going a little old school here but ask who they know that would they be open to using the essential oils or who would be open to apart time side project to earn extra money. The word open over the word “interested” is a more powerful approach.

HOW TO TAPROOT IN DEPTH

What I have found over the years in my own businesses is that when I am digging deep into the organizations, it may take 7-10 generations deep to find that leader ready to run. So please understand the process can take a bit of time but, can change the face of your business.

This is why we always go back to this being a relationship business. Whether someone is on your frontline or levels deep – you each have a commonality you should explore. And what better way to grow a business than with others who are all in like yourself.

Once you have uncovered that gem, work with them to do the same thing. Because the truth is there are likely people deep in their organizations who are just waiting for that call or private message too. However, you reach out to people or how they like to be reached out too is more important.

On a personal note, having to dig so deep into an organization can be incredibly disheartening. But we need you to remember this — people are going to quit no matter what you do. And so, instead of focusing on those you have to drag and/or convince spend that energy digging deep and gathering your tribe.

Learning this skill is momentum in your business

Overall, learning how to taproot is a great way to get your team into momentum.  This skill is basically working through people to find people. As long as you keep the ball rolling, it is a powerful way to never run out of people to talk to.

If you keep at it every day, you can experience your team will be fired up! The priority here though is staying active and consistent with this approach. When you let off the gas remember you will have to work at getting that ball rolling all over again. Here is another blog post about Taprooting you may enjoy
