As a business owner (or future business owner) people will quit as fast as they start in your business. Understanding that from the very beginning doesn’t always make it any easier to swallow.
When someone quits or actually tells you they are leaving your business (most won’t even do that) the first thought you have is “What did I not do right?”. You start looking at them quitting from your end first instead of looking where it came from.
They quit… not you.
Quitting is not duplicatable
When you join a business. You are making a decision. The decision should also include an understanding that no matter what you start you will not be rich in 30 days. What it means is where the motivation lacks is to push past the beginning parts of building a business the inspiration is missing.
When someone comes to me and wants to start a blog and I get them connected to the system to help them start building the blog, they log in to see a blank page. It can be a little overwhelming. If they would take the time to watch the step by step videos that show them how to set it up and get started it comes together pretty quickly.
Somone brand new to dragging and dropping widgets may take a little longer but your eyes have to be on the end results and what you want to get out of it. The blog you are reading on today started in 2010.
It was ugly, mixed up and has gone through so many changes since then.
Find your Passion
The last thing you want to do is start a blog all about the company you are in. You want your blog to be about you and your passions. You can talk about your company benefits but actually using the name of the company in your blog post is not a good idea. If you give away all the reasons for them to talk to you up front they will go google the name of the company and they will find all the negative things that Google has to share.
This is where people want to quit on themselves (not me) is because they don’t think they have a passion or good ideas or anything someone wants to learn from them. We all do. The reason we can’t see our own goodness is that we are to close to it and don’t see it.
When you ask people around you what you are good at, it always shocks people what people notice about you.
That is where the money is
Blogging gets much easier when you can talk about things you love to talk about. If you had a topic that you struggle with more than one or two posts then that is your sign it is not for you. The phrase “go with the flow” comes in real handy.
One of my business partners is a goat farmer. If you have ever been on a farm you know there is enough activity going on you can always snap pictures of the animals and talk about your daily routine and why you do the things you do in your day.
Seriously she is now blogging about the goats and connecting it with her business! She has no problem blogging and it comes across naturally.
Closing the sale is the opposite of attraction marketing
Attraction Marketing means they are already drawn to you through the value you provide. If you put a great offer in front of them, which shows how it can help them clearly. It will trigger a conversation in their heads which will lead to them almost closing themselves before getting to you.
It’s about casting the net WIDE and let the people sort themselves. You MUST provide a path for them to walk down so that they can eventually buy. (AKA Blog content, status updates, emails)
A snippet from Ben Settles email “It’s not about convincing anyone to hire you. It’s about positioning yourself so you give them the opportunity to hire you. Doing that changes the whole game. You go from begging to get hired to clients coming to you, hat in hand, asking if you are taking clients, and wanting to hire you and only you
People will quit your business
You don’t have to know everything to get started, You have to believe in yourself and in your vision strong enough to get started and know it will be hard. Find someone to support you, find a coach, a community to lean on as you grow. You will have days that are harder than others. You will not always want to work your business.
I don’t work all day every day but there no days that I don’t do something in my business.
The BESTEST part (yes that is a word) – you can take a 10-day tour before you make a decision. Just pop in look around, click the buttons, read the benefits, get your hands dirty. Sniff and snoop all you want for 10-days.
For those that do… I will see you inside the Facebook support group so you are not in this alone. Business is so much more fun with people who talk the same geeky language.
For the person who is serious and wants to really set up a blog and actually BLOG FOR PROFITS. You need to take a peek here. Make Money from the 90% who say NO to YOUR opportunity… and YES, you too can use it IMMEDIATELY to Grow YOUR business!
PS: – if this is not for you… no worries…. continue what you are doing if it is working for you. If it’s not working just take a little bitty tiny sneaky snoopy peek.
