You have sat through enough free trainings that turned into a sales page at minute forty to be careful with your money now. That caution is the reason Social Media Marketing World deserves a straight look before you decide anything, because the question underneath it is not what the ticket costs, it is whether you walk out with something you can use on a Tuesday night after work.
I bought my ticket. I paid $1,100 for the All-Access one, which is real money out of a business I am still building, and I want to show you exactly how I made that call so you can make your own.
Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, which means I earn a commission if you buy a ticket through them. It costs you nothing extra, and it did not change a word of what follows.
What Social Media Marketing World Is, and What It Costs
The 2027 conference runs April 1 through April 3 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. It is the fourteenth one, it is run by Social Media Examiner, and more than 58,000 marketers have been through the previous thirteen.
There are four tickets, and the prices sitting there right now are sale prices against a higher retail number. Virtual is $497, AI Business World is $497, the Marketer ticket is $947, and All-Access is $1,197. Every one of them has a four payment option, which matters more than the sticker price when you are paying out of a side income.
The room is not what you might picture. The average attendee has eight to ten years of marketing experience and they come in from more than sixty countries, so it is not a beginner room, but it is also not a room of corporate teams with expense accounts. A lot of the people there are running something of their own, and an outside write-up of how the event has changed says the same thing.
What is Social Media Marketing World?
Social Media Marketing World is a three day marketing conference hosted by Social Media Examiner, held April 1 to 3, 2027 in Anaheim, California. It covers organic and paid social, marketing strategy, and a full AI track, with keynotes, breakout sessions, and topic based networking tables. Tickets range from $497 virtual to $1,197 all-access.
The Rule That Decides Whether Social Media Marketing World Is Worth It
Here is the thing I checked first, because it is the thing that has burned me before. Speakers at this conference are not allowed to sell from the stage. Social Media Examiner calls it pitch-free content and it is a condition of speaking, not a suggestion in the welcome email.
That one rule changes what a session is for. When a speaker cannot end on an offer, the only thing she has to give you is the method, which means the value has to live inside the forty minutes instead of behind a cart link.
It also changes who agrees to speak. A stage with no selling attracts people who want the reputation more than the email addresses, and that is a different caliber of teacher than the ones who come for the list build.
Before you spend a dollar on any event, go find that policy on their site. If a conference does not publish one, assume the sessions end in offers, and price the ticket accordingly.
Is Social Media Marketing World just a sales pitch?
No. Social Media Examiner enforces a no-selling-from-stage policy for every speaker, which it publishes openly and markets as pitch-free content. Sponsors have booths in the networking plaza, so there is selling in the building, but it stays out of the sessions you paid to attend.
Not sure you are far enough along to justify a ticket like this?
Five days, one short email each morning, and you will know what your business is actually ready for.
The Ticket Detail Almost Nobody Points Out
Look at the comparison chart on the ticket page and read the recordings row instead of the price row. The $497 Virtual ticket includes recordings of every session and workshop. The $947 Marketer ticket, the mid-priced one that puts you in the building, does not.
Read that again, because it is the opposite of what you would guess. Spending four hundred and fifty dollars more to be there in person takes away the thing you would still have in June.
The reason is that they are two different products. Virtual is a library you keep for eighteen months, in-person is a room you are in once, and All-Access at $1,197 is the only ticket that hands you both.
Once you see it that way the decision gets simple. If the hallway conversations are what you want, you are choosing between Marketer and All-Access, and the gap between them is two hundred and fifty dollars for an extra workshop day, a networking party, and eighteen months of recordings.
The number on the ticket is not the product. The thing you still own afterward is, and that holds for every course and membership you have ever looked at too.
Which Social Media Marketing World ticket should I buy?
Virtual at $497 if you want the training and the recordings without the travel. All-Access at $1,197 if you want the room, the extra workshop day, and the recordings together. The $947 Marketer ticket puts you in the building but does not include recordings, so it only makes sense if the travel budget stops there.
Six Years of Deciding Not to Go
I have followed this conference since the first one in San Diego in April 2013. Every single year I read the agenda, wanted to be there, and did not book it.
The reason was not the money and it was not the sessions. It was the flight from Kentucky to California, and I let that one sentence make the decision for thirteen years running.
What makes that strange is that I was never a woman who stayed home. Before 2020 I was at a live event every ninety days, four a year, year after year, and my last one was the beginning of that year.
Then everything moved to a screen, and the thing nobody warns you about is that learning from home actually worked. I am not someone who fills a notebook at an event and sets it on a shelf. Whatever I learn goes into place that same week, so six years of screen learning produced real things and I never had a complaint to make about it.
That is exactly what made it easy to keep saying no. When the cheaper, easier way is still producing, you stop questioning it, and I went six years without noticing what the screen does not hand you. It does not hand you the woman sitting next to you at lunch who is two years ahead of you and willing to tell you what she would do differently.
What changed this year was noticing the reason had stopped being a reason. A flight I do not want to take is not a business decision, it is a preference wearing a business decision’s clothes, and I had never once written it down and looked at it.
If you have a thing you have said no to more than three years running, write down the actual reason in one sentence. You will know inside ten seconds whether it is a constraint or a habit.
The Social Media Marketing World Deadline That Actually Matters
Every conference runs a price countdown and it trains you to focus on the wrong date. The date that carries real weight on this one is October 31, 2026.
Cancel on or before October 31 and you get a full refund. Cancel between November 1 and November 30 and you get half back. After November 30, 2026, there is no refund at all, and the event is still five months away at that point.
Put those two facts next to each other and you get something useful. Buying at today’s sale price still leaves you a window where changing your mind costs you nothing, which means the decision in front of you right now is smaller than it feels.
It also means the last week of October is a real appointment, not a marketing one. Whatever you decide, decide it before the refund window closes rather than after, because waiting turns a reversible choice into a permanent one for no benefit.
Can you get a refund on a Social Media Marketing World ticket?
Yes, within a window. Cancellations on or before October 31, 2026 receive a full refund. Cancellations between November 1 and November 30, 2026 receive 50 percent. After November 30, 2026 no refund is available, and only the original purchaser may request one.
What Three Days Buys a Woman Building This on the Side
The part I paid for is the Thursday. All-Access opens a day early with ninety minute workshops on things like messaging, conversion, email, and video, and a ninety minute workshop is long enough to actually build something instead of watching a summary of it.
The second piece is AI Business World, which is twenty AI marketing sessions running inside the conference. It sells on its own for $497 and it is folded into All-Access at no extra cost, which is most of why the top ticket stopped looking expensive to me.
Then there are the table talks, which are small topic-based tables rather than a room of people holding drinks. Thirty minute breaks are built between sessions on purpose so those conversations have somewhere to happen.
None of it counts for anything if the notebook goes on a shelf when you get home. The whole return on a ticket like this gets decided in the weeks after it ends, which is the same problem as every course you have ever bought, and it is the one thing about myself I already know the answer to.
Is Social Media Marketing World good for beginners?
It suits someone with a live business more than someone still deciding what to build. The average attendee has eight to ten years of marketing experience, so sessions assume you already have an audience, an offer, or a platform to apply the material to. With something running, even small, the sessions land.
Go look at the two tickets and see which one is actually yours.
The $497 virtual ticket gets you every session and the recordings for eighteen months. The $1,197 All-Access adds the room, the workshop day, and the twenty AI sessions that cost $497 on their own. Four payment option on both.
If You Go, Come Find Me
The part nobody prepares you for is walking into a convention center where you know exactly nobody. Everyone tells you to network your way out of it, which is easy advice to give and a miserable thing to actually do on a Friday morning among five thousand strangers.
Here is what I can offer instead. If you register through my link, forward me your confirmation email and we will find each other in Anaheim. Breakfast one morning, or twenty minutes in the hallway between sessions, whatever works once the schedule is out.
My link earns me a commission. What you get for using it instead of going straight to their site is one person you already know before you walk into that building.
I am going to be the woman looking for a familiar face too. Six years is a long time to be away from a room, and I would rather do the first morning with somebody than alone.
Is Social Media Marketing World Worth It for You?
For me, yes, and the reason is narrow enough to be useful to you. I am paying for a no-selling-from-stage policy, twenty AI sessions I would otherwise pay $497 for separately, a workshop day long enough to build in, and eighteen months of recordings that outlive the flight home.
For you it depends on one thing, and it is not your income. It is whether you have something live enough to apply the material to, because a conference multiplies what is already running and multiplies nothing when nothing is running. If you are still working out whether any of this can pay you at all, that question comes before a ticket, not after it.
If you do have something running, the virtual ticket at $497 with the recordings is a reasonable place to start, and nobody is going to think less of you for it. Whichever one you pick, pick it before October 31 while you can still change your mind for free.
Three days of training with nobody allowed to sell you anything from the stage.
April 1 to 3, 2027 in Anaheim. Tickets start at $497 with a four payment option, and you can still get a full refund through October 31. Register through this link, forward me the confirmation, and we will find each other there.
