Onboarding Series 3 of 5: Comfort Call

We have talked about pre-enrollment, enrollment, day one, and now we are talking about the comfort call.

The call is not a sales pitch; it is not a three-way call; it is a call with someone they are comfortable learning in front of. That is it.

If you do not know how to three-way a call on your type phone – google it or Youtube it. It is easy.

The new consultant’s only job is to do the introduction once you are all on the call. You thank them for getting on the comfort call with the new person.

The first question you ask the “comfort person” is “What do you know about XYZ company” and tell them.

If they know nothing about the company, keep it very brief in explaining about the company. Less than 2 minutes max – preferably 1 minute.

The next question you can ask –

Would you like to hear more about the business side of the product side?

This is where you get to introduce the products in a brief statement. Again I say brief so it is a short call.

Ask the comfort person if they have any questions, even if they are not interested in the business or the products, so that the new consultant can hear the response.

Once the call is over (15 mins max), hang up and call the consultant back to see if they have any questions, if what you did make sense, and if she can have those kinds of conversations.

After this call, the natural progression of human conversation between the new consultant and the comfort call person. They may or may not make the sale, but they usually ask for more information from being curious like humans are.

Once again – keep it short – and easy. There is no need to become a chatterbox and take over the conversation.

Listen, ask a few questions and allow the conversation to flow.

This is a training call, and that is the only purpose. If a sale happens, that is great – if not, that is ok too for training and learning.

Keep the process simple for two reasons – it is easy for them and easy for them to teach (duplication)
