Leadership guilt in Network Marketing

Have you ever had leadership guilt in your network marketing business?

For many years I had loads of confidence that I could help another mom make an extra $500-$1000 a month, and I helped thousands of them do just that. I knew what she had to commit to doing each day. I was able to guide her to the next step.

๐Ÿ”˜ I had a leadership quilt when they didn’t reach the goal even though they didn’t show up to do the work.ย

๐Ÿ”˜ I over-supported people.

๐Ÿ”˜ I gave people my time and knowledge that had not earned either.

๐Ÿ”˜ I placed new customers under people who were not working but collected a check.

๐Ÿ”˜ I built the tools for my team to use for free. Some used them, but most didn’t.

๐Ÿ”˜ I was building expensive time-sucking funnels.

๐Ÿ”˜ I was teaching zoom classes to teams who rarely put the training into action.

๐Ÿ”˜ I was traveling to teach classes to less than eight people.

๐Ÿ”˜ People were dropping into my DM’s to “pick my brain” or ask a question or two but didn’t want to pay for the coaching call.

๐Ÿ”˜ No matter how hard I worked after 11 years, my check started dropping, but the ones above me were still reaping the benefits from the massive 700-800K volume each month due to the structure of the comp plan.

๐Ÿ”˜ Not once did an upline reach down to help; I worked more. I talked to more people, but the system was broken, and I was exhausted.

I was floating up to my neck in the changes the company made that was destroying what I had built, yet no one wanted to talk about the changes. It was called a low season while I was watching another company explode.

Being so loyal to a company or a job while you are drowning is the hardest thing you can do. You are in a business to make an income, and when that isn’t happening, your loyalty isn’t helping you or your family.

I was drowning in doubt. I knew I was good at people skills, even as an extrovert. There had to be more to the industry than what I saw.

A friend approached me after she had left her own company and a team three times bigger than mine. I looked without intention to shift until I saw the system.

My comment was WTF!! Are you kidding me?

It is set up for any level of a social marketer to activate and get results from who did the work. I got the full tour to peek inside, and it still amazes me today that this is a thing.

Loyalty has a limit

Being loyal is one thing – Being loyal and going broke is another.

The hardest part for me was that only one person on my team made more money than me – ONE PERSON out of 10K+! My builders were not growing. Some were working but getting zero traction.

When the growth stops in your business

There was no potential for them to outearn me, and there is nothing that feels more fraudulent than collecting a check but not being able to help someone else grow.

Nervous about starting over – I stepped away from my team. I dropped the loyalty card and went for the shift.ย I knew I was about to find out who my real friends were. People I had talked to almost daily disappeared. One lady told me she was not allowed to talk to me.

Once again, I could kick my ass for not following my gut intuition that something was wrong. Once you step back, you can always see more clearly than standing in the middle.ย I love having a system that helps the people I connect with and myself. We now have simple steps and more content to consume than I have seen in a very long time. It has been a weight off my shoulders, a breath of fresh air.

My mojo is back, and it feels good to be moving forward again.
