Before I had morning coffee or even dressed for the day I checked my messages and the first one I read said: “This is extremely complicated for me. It is NOT the simple approach I was led to believe I would have. I am quitting today if I can not have this situation resolved today.”
I immediately looked at the page they signed up on to see where it said it was EASY. [Click here to see the page]. It said it was a powerful system (and it is) to generate her own leads for her business.
The conversation got worse as it went along. They said, “I have spent HOURS trying to figure this out”.
I sat and looked at that message for a moment and thought about how many HOURS, DAYS and WEEKS I have sat in front of a laptop trying to figure it out. If I got paid for the hours spent on my business I would be able to retire again already. There were many months I worked on my business that more was going out than was coming in. I felt like a college student in college learning and applying but not getting paid.
They continued “they said it takes one click” If our life or our business was as simple as one click and everything fell into place there would be no gratitude for the hard work that truly goes into learning about growing a business. Did you see I said “growing”? It is time and effort combined that makes it all work to grow into an empire. Yes, the blog is literally one click to get set up – but that is when the true work begins.
Blaming is easy
It is easy to blame someone else when we are frustrated when the one click doesn’t work out like we had in mind. She says, “It should not be this hard. I didn’t really expect it to be one click, but your site said that. I have spent DAYS working on this and I still don’t have a site.” I totally understand the frustration. I spent hours building a blog when I had no one to guide me, so I hired someone to help me. It was also something that was offered to this person, to use a system that teaches you how to blog, how to generate leads and how to grow and additional income, and more training added each week for no additional fee.
It’s your fault
I get the opportunity to work with lots of people around the globe and most I will never get the chance to meet in person. I share webinars, videos, blog post, audios, and zoom calls to help people get the results they are looking for. There are more people needing help than there is time for me to teach. I have met very few people in business who were angry because they had to work to build an income (most have jobs and understand that is how the world turns) but there will be a few people who never believe in themselves enough to do what it takes to win.
The conversation ended with this ” I quit when something is not right. I have other friends who do this who would be more supportive. You are apparently too big in this to deal with you. Plz do not contact me again.”
I didn’t contact this person to start the conversation. She messaged me – even though she was not one of my team members or my coaching clients I was still trying to see what the issue was. I also had to let her know that her anger was not at me – it was at the frustration she was dealing with. There are more than one step in any business and in any project.
The students that are studying with me know I am a firm believer in knowing there is more out there and that you have to work to get your business set up to run.
Did this post make you uncomfortable? Did you quit on yourself? Are you ready to get back up in the saddle and take a ride? This business journey is not easy but it so worth what you learn and the opportunity to share with others. Let me show you how to generate your own leads while you are getting training for yourself at the same time.
Your Thoughts….
If you gained value from today’s post or you know someone who is struggling with generating their leads or their blog is a struggle. Share this post “I failed. It’s your fault” with them today.

Thank you Angela for a very honest blog.
People really need to know that one, it is not easy and two that it takes time and does not happen overnight!
There is a lot of study that goes into these businesses and it’s just not one click of the finger.
I appreciate your transparency.
Debra
Thank you Debra – no matter how much I want to help. There is work involved on the other side
