How I Lost a Back Fat Roll and Gained Some Side Income

This week, my gym time saved me from losing it emotionally.
If you follow me on Facebook (and if not—what are you even doing?), you saw the post about our sweet Daisy. We had to help her cross the rainbow bridge. She didn’t want to go. She loved truck rides. She looked at me like, “Are you sure?” And I kept whispering, “We’ll be okay.”

Heart. Shattered.

So yeah, moving my body helped me move through the emotions.

And then I ran into a friend—someone who’s been a workout buddy over the years.
She asked, “How’s your new Ladder program going?”
I laughed and said, “I’m one back fat roll down.”
That’s our kind of language. We get it.

This summer, I’ve been laser focused on my bat wings and back rolls.
So I bought the cute dresses, shorts (hello confidence), and skorts.
Stuff I stopped wearing a decade ago because I noticed what no one else probably did.

Now at 59, my goal isn’t skinny. It’s strong.
Strong legs. Solid ankles. And being able to get off the floor without looking like a flipped turtle.

Let’s talk about the real stuff.

If you’re exhausted, you’re not going for that walk.
If your joints are flaring up with inflammation, you’re not getting your steps in.
We do the opposite of what helps. That’s just how we roll (pun not intended but it fits).

That’s where peptides have helped me.
They’re not a magic fix. But they did give me enough energy to start showing up differently.

And you know what else showed up?
A buzz on my phone while my husband and I were out walking.
It was a payment notification—from commissions I had earned—ready to be transferred to my bank account.

It was more than enough to pay for dinner and our $2 ice cream at Sonic. (Yes, that’s our thing.)

I’ve been talking about what I use and love for 20 years—and getting paid to do it.
Now Walmart even has a program (yep, it’s a thing).
Amazon sends me money every month, and I’ve never once been upset about an extra $50 to $100 dropping in.

That’s what I call side money alongside job money. And if you’re nodding along, I bet you’re into that idea too.

Let’s be real though.

There’s no magic pill.
No app—even Ladder, which I love—will work if you don’t move.
No product helps if it stays sealed in the box.
No protein snack fuels you if you never click the link.

And no system I share for building your business will work if you don’t show up.
If not, I’ll be sitting here singing Old MacDonald by myself.
