Feeling Grateful Can Make You More Successful

I marked my calendar as busy for the next two weeks. I have no business listed.
I am so grateful that I am no longer working an outside job and that I can work from home or from my lap top anywhere I have Internet. I am grateful that my business team understands and has sent some of the kindest messages, prayers and support.

For the first time in 25 years I was able to take care of my family who needed me without asking a boss if it was ok for me to be off work for family issues.

That was priceless.

My mother had a total knee replacement and I have stayed with her the whole process. She is strong and doing well.

Before I worked at home I would have to put in a slip, explain to someone why I needed to take care of my family, how long I would be off work, bring in a slip from her doctor proving that is was real and I was not lying. The most agitating words to hear a supervisor tell you no they could not let you off, the hospital needs would not be met with my approved time off.

My thoughts were: ‘My absence would slow the hospital down?’

I would then have to go the next level supervision and go through the whole process again to get it approved. After it was approved now I would have to deal with the retaliation from the other supervisor that disapproved the slip in the beginning.

The ongoing mind games in themselves were exhausting, then the family illness on top of that.

So needless to say, I am grateful for the opportunity to be available without a hassle.

I am grateful.

This weekend was the Go Pro event in Las Vegas. I wasn’t there live to get business training but I was live on the live streaming taking notes and watching as much as I could (thank goodness for replays). The key to your business is improving yourself as much as pushing your team to do the same. As people grow their state of mind it grows their business.

If you are not where you want to be, if you are still asking a boss to have a day off – let’s talk. There is a proven way to grow in this life and it doesn’t have to be under someone else’s permission.
