How to Convert Your Prospects into Customers and Distributors

People are always asking does my network connections need to be on customers or business builders?

People join network marketing for many reasons, they become a customer because they love the network marketing products but they stay for the opportunity they find within the company either with the products or because they can share the products with others who also enjoy the results.

Go to people where they are

If you are talking to someone who is afraid of the entrepreneurial side of network marketing that loves the results from the products. Start them there. Don’t be afraid to mention the opportunity so people know there are options that if they only want the products that are totally fine.

We grow a network of distributors who are doing the same thing. Sale products, provide an opportunity to build a business. That is what we do.

WHAT WE DO INSIDE NETWORK MARKETING AND HOW WE DO IT

1. We personally sell products and services to our customers.
2. We grow and expand a network of other distributors who are doing the same thing.
3. We work to improve the productivity of the network that we built.

There will be some people that are just customers– they can’t get their head around being a distributor right now, but they would be interested in the product. Don’t make them feel less than awesome if they just want to be involved in the product. Let them be involved in the product and then stay connected through social media or your newsletter.

The second reason why customers are very, very important in today’s business is that distributors are also customers – you can build an army of people who are distributors that are their own customer, and that internal consumption is fine.

Shifting to Prospects

  1. Let them be involved with the products if that is all they are open too
  2. Stay connected through social media, your email list, let them know that is going on within the company or the business, share life with them and success stories
  3. As you build that rapport connection and they see more social proof hopefully they will shift to thinking about the opportunity.
  4. Show them how you’ve been able to use social media in addition to offline forms of marketing. How you blend the two. Most people are concerned they don’t know enough people and this is one way they can meet more people to talk to about the products or business.
  5. These efforts will support having a conversation with them.

Tell stories

Learning to tell your own story is powerful. The strongest people in network marketing are the people who tell the story the best. The people who are on stages are just incredible storytellers. They learned to tell stories. They tell their own story. They tell other people’s stories. That’s what they do, all day, every day, story, story, story, story. That’s what gives the facts better than anything else can do, okay.

People can connect with stories.

If you are telling people the facts about the company and all the ingredients in the bottle of products – can I just tell you – no one cares.

If you tell people your background and you share your pain with them, you share your frustrations, your doubts, your worries, your fears, and that you found a solution. Now they want to know more. Now they’re interested. Now they’re in. Now you’re a real human being with value. They want to know more. They’re curious.

They’re leaning forward if you tell your story this way. So it’s really important that you implement and you work on your story, because as soon as you get somebody who’s curious, getting on the phone or meeting them for coffee gets really easy to do.

Your story might include the brand that you’re building, that’s your passion, and you’ve got this job, and whatever is going on. But here was your frustration. And then whatever that is for you – every one of you has a story, and that you found a solution, and here’s how you feel about the future. THAT is what people will lean in to listen too.

How to build a network marketing community

Tell the story.
Invite them to your home for a home party, coffee, dinner, zoom call, facetime
Tell the story and connect with them and let them see the value of what you have as a product, and what you have as an opportunity.
Tell the story and do the thing.

The Key is follow up

In network marketing, it takes an average of four to six exposures for a person to make a positive decision about joining a business. Now it might not take that many for them to become interested in your product, but to join the business it’s about four to six exposures.

On social media, it may be more than that and you didn’t even know the process was happening with that person.

Exposures build rapport and trust, it builds a relationship and makes you likable. They may see a post you did or they like your lifestyle post and want to reach out to you.

Those exposures may happen during your social media presence, but also, once you start having the conversation with them and you share your product or service and you share your opportunity.

Don’t always expect that immediately a person is going to say, “Well, I’m ready to join.”

Not everybody is ready to become an entrepreneur in one presentation. They might want to try the product first. They might want to see if it has a good impact in their life. They might want to talk to somebody else. They might want to do some online homework. They might want to hear some other success stories. They might want to meet the people that are involved, maybe go to one of your events. There’s a lot of different things that are going to happen in exposure.

This is where your Facebook groups and communities are so powerful.

Don’t get disappointed and quit just know for that one person who joined you on the first exposure is rare. Most people it takes 12-14 exposures to say yes to a product. Some people you feel like you are wasting your time on but it is a different process for every person you meet.

Learning how to help people with objections

If you begin this process and stay with it you will get better over time. You are going to learn to be a good storyteller, you are going to learn how to handle objections because there is only a handful that people use and you will learn what to say to those people. Objections are people’s way to learn about what you do.

With social media, we can reach a large group of people and it is easy to make 5-10 exposures a day. You will get good at attracting people to you until someday you will not be looking for people they will be coming to you and asking for more.

That is when business gets really fun and converting them to customers becomes so much easier.

This process works both on and offline. Give a try and see if it works for you.

Closing is not about twisting someone’s arm

Nor is it convincing somebody to do something that they don’t want to do. It’s asking some questions that lead people in the direction of making a conclusion that they want to make is education and understanding. We’re here to educate them to the point that they understand it. And once they understand it, it’s either for them or not.

Closing is just asking people questions. Are you ready? Why don’t you just be a customer? The distributor concept is very, very easy. Give it shot. If you have an entrepreneurial bone in your body, this is easier than these other forms of entrepreneurship. We’re each growing an independent business, but together we can do something powerful.

Converting those people is a pretty simple process. There are some key distinctions, but mostly it’s learning how to tell your story, and do the thing. Be patient in the process, and have enough people in the pipeline (always connecting with new people) that you’re always involving new people and you’re always expanding your business.

Social media is changing the way we communicate and the way we are perceived, both positively and negatively. Every time you post a photo or update your status, you are contributing to your own digital footprint and personal brand. Everybody is branding themselves, but not everybody has a personal brand. Your Social Media presence speaks to who you are and the audience you’re reaching.

You attract people by your actual passions. The secret sauce is talking about your passions and attracting like-minded people. Then you can convert those people into prospects in an elegant way that doesn’t offend.

You’ve created your masterpiece. YOUR BRAND. The YOU that everyone can see around the world!
