Using gratitude in business to become a better entrepreneur

Gratitude in Business comes after a lot of hard work, and mindset training. I know people are looking for over night success, and I know they are looking for the easy button. I am sorry (not really) that I don’t have that button available. To be honest – I don’t even wish I could offer it to you.

It didn’t come easy for me to use gratitude in my business to become a better entrepreneur. I had lots of head trash from years past – lots of head trash. No matter what success I had I never felt like I had reached that “success spot”. I wasn’t pausing long enough to give my own self a pat on the back for the distance up a very rocky mountain.

As my business has grown, I found out painfully that people don’t always support you. Your business doesn’t always come with a support team who will be cheering for you but actually, you may find they will try to pull you down. It is hard to find gratitude under those situations.

Gratitude in Business

This past weekend I found myself repeatedly saying over and over and over “I am so grateful”. For once in my life, I was not saying it to motivate myself but because I felt it deep inside my gut to the point I felt like I was dreaming. Oh my goodness, I am so grateful for this past weekend.

In the eye of the storm, there is always something good. The storm happened to be Irma the hurricane that was headed straight for Florida. My first thought was that all of my friends that I have in Florida’s home are going to be damaged and I can not image the stress of running from what is called home. I connected with as many of them on facebook and watched from a distance as my network marketing business coach Ray Higdon, packed his family up and headed to the Great Smokey Mountains for safety.

Ray has a group called “RankMakers” that opened a few months ago. With very short notice he decided to do a one-day training. The Smokie Mountains are only 4 1/2 hours from our home, and with the storm going to hit Florida we were afraid the Top Earner Academy event in September would be canceled due to damage. We packed a bag – found hotel reservations and took a weekend drive to the mountains.

The room held less than 100 people. The training was 6 hours intense content because as always Ray gives his best when he speaks. In the room were several top earners in the network marketing business that gave us a treat after the training.

Jeff Altgilbers invited us for dinner in his home on top of the LeConte mountain. Oh, what a view! What a beautiful home!

Jeff and Michelle Altgilbers are currently top earners and are in the top 50 list of MLM top earners in the world.

They are making about $200,000 per month and over $2,400,000 per year, which is in the form of recurring commissions. Jeff and His wife are today millionaires but life has never been that easy before they joined their present company.

Around 40 people came to his home, hung out on the back deck listening to a bluegrass band and networking. I listened to the many people who had fled their homes to the mountains as a getaway and instead of grumbling and complaining, they were speaking gratitude. Not just being nice but real true deep heart felt gratitude for the ability to pack a bag and leave everything they have to run to safety and be ok.

As one lady mentioned “even though we are nervous about what will be waiting for us we will get a check deposited on Tuesday. We don’t have to worry about not getting paid, or losing our jobs, our business is still up and running and we are going to be ok.”

Eye opening – Forehead smacking – Aha Moment happened right there on that mountain top.

I am so grateful… I am so grateful for the hard work, the learning I had to wade through, the traveling I have done and now the amazing people who I have surrounded myself with. I am not sure I can even put it into words what I mean.

For years, I have heard people say “it’s not about the money”. My first thought was “like hell it isn’t”!

Now I get it – I understand it’s the journey of the business growth that leads you to the people you meet, the relationships you grow and the experiences you have along the way. In return, you get what you want – the money.

As terrible as any storm is that destroys homes and causes people to start over. It’s a true purge in life. Without this storm, I would not have met these amazing people. I would not have had dinner in Jeff’s home, I would not have gotten to spend an extra weekend with Ray and Jessica.

I am grateful they are all safe, their homes have very little to no damage. The Top earner event at the end of September is still going to happen. We were all running from a storm and found so much more. Not all storms in our lives are damaging. Not all storms tear things down. Every once in a while one comes along as a big threat and introduces you to an experience you couldn’t have without it.

I am so grateful.

Oh and let me tell you about this guy his name is Whitney Kielman. He came to the Rankmakers event after working a long shift to meet Ray in person because he was only 3 hours away.

He found Ray because of one of my YouTube videos! Who would have thought? In the video, I mentioned Ray Higdon and he googled him. Joined his rank makers group and then came to the event where he met me in person.

You have no idea who you are going to impact. You have no idea who is watching your videos, reading your blog post, and seeing your Facebook post.

I am so grateful… and I hope you are too.
