Today is my Birthday

I bet you’re wondering why I am telling you it’s my birthday. Like the world, itself really cares right?

Today, I turn 51. (March 20th)

10 – 20  years ago when I said it was my birthday it meant the beer was cold and the shots of tequila were going to be passed around the table. LOTS of dancing and giggling was about to take place.

We had fun… or I think we had fun.

Today I sit here looking out over our farm and feel so grateful that I am 51, healthy, my kids are good people and I am married to a good man.

I am blessed to have a mother who is still above ground and that has stood beside me no matter what situation I was in…I have been in a few.

Birthdays are landmarks for the time covered in this life. I no longer want to stuff cake and ice cream in my face or pass the beer cooler around the table.

I have tested a lot of water and thank goodness the water current keeps the flow going and those time did pass.

We live in a time that in the USA we can become anything we are willing to put forth and effort for. We can apply for jobs, we can build businesses, we can live almost anywhere we choose to live.

I spent many years looking for me and I was here all along. I had a dad who walked out on my mother with two small kids and a low paying job. Back when three bedroom houses cost $12,900 dollars with the house payment of $78 a month for 20 years and payday was less than $100 a week.

She never grumbled she never complained and we had everything we needed and if we didn’t I didn’t notice.

Today people grumble and complain when they have more options today than ever in history and they don’t step into the opportunity to bring more into their life.

People will read about it, study, get more information and talk to more people how to make change happen and never step foot out in front of them to actually use the information they have learned. I call it Knowledge Obesity.

Why am I rambling about memory lane?

Because time is going to pass by even if you stand still.

Next year will still come. You can get scared and move into a space that makes you uncomfortable or you can stand there and let the days pass you by.

I don’t want to end this life saying I wish.

My goal for the next 12 months is to inspire people to believe and know they can. You can’t do things like me because you are you.

I get daily messages about blogging, email marketing, starting a business and 90% of those will say “Let me think about it.” Meaning they don’t believe in themselves enough to start something new to them.

Or they ask about a product and have to think about it but if they are in Wal-mart they will pick up and toss it in the basket without the first google search.

I don’t chase people. I don’t beg people because I know for a fact what I can show them works and will make their life shift. I started this journey very green. I knew nothing down to how to copy and paste on the computer.

Thanks google for helping me on the simple stuff.

I see people post things like I am looking for 5 people – 10 people – 20 people to train up and work with me.

I am not that person. I am looking to shift generations of people who can carry a legacy and teach them that life was given to them for a purpose and whining and complaining was not in the package

When I am gone from this life my mission is to leave behind a culture of people who feel they can.

Not everyone wants to be a millionaire. They are seeking happiness, contentment, and self-confidence. I have never met someone who complained they had enough money to pay all their bills and extra to shop.

I have heard lots of broke people begging for more month at the end of their bills. (yes I said that the right way)

Change has to happen

As a mental health nurse, I celebrated a young man’s 21st birthday at the hospital along with the other staff. His mother was restricted from visits due to his behavior and that night he cried for his mother. I sat and listened.

The following year we celebrated his 22nd birthday and his mother was allowed to come visit.

On his 23rd birthday, we got a phone call. He had gotten married, had a job, and had a new baby on the way. He said,”I knew I had to change because my future at the rate I was going was not looking good.”

I have talked to hundreds of people who settled in their life and didn’t move past the fear of getting uncomfortable. It is an emotional shift.

If you are still reading YOU may be that person who wants more and is standing frozen in time as it goes by. I am willing to help you but you have to take the first step.

My birthday will come again next year if I am supposed to be here and I want to have more life to changing stories to share. Yours can be one of them.

You may not be open to change. You may know someone else who is. Share this message with them.
