You have heard people talk about money like it has a heart and a pulse. It is paper.
We use it to exchange for experiences. The person holding the money makes the decision on what kind of experience it is going to be.
Some people are hoarders, some people are excessive shoppers, it is a choice what you decide to do with your money. What I do know without money you cannot experience things in life or change someone else’s.
Even a non-profit or charities need money to help the people they have gathered to assist.
In a world of credit cards and the “I want it now mentality”, it is easy to get swept up in material things. It has been proven that things do not make you happy – nor a pocket full of money. I have had empty pockets, and I have had full pockets. There is nothing evil about being able to go to the store and purchase your groceries, or clothes, or replace the things that get broken without planning for it.
Money is not evil
When I was a single mom I am more than sure poor Lincoln thought I would squeeze him right off the penny. I had a set income with my job without overtime (and that is what I focused my life on not overtime) I wrote out a budget and I stuck with it. I knew what I could and couldn’t do. I had what I needed.
As I have grown in my business I have not forgotten a budget, and it never leaves my mind that I once could not reach for the extra things just because I wanted them.
I am grateful that now I can pay someone to help me clean the house, we pay someone to trim the scrubs, we paid someone to do the landscaping, we paid someone to build onto our back living area under roof, I pay someone to trim my hair, I pay a personal trainer to push me in my fitness goals, I pay a business coach to push me to the next level in business.
I am not bragging, it is a fact none of that could happen without generating an income to cover the people who help us. I am able to pay someone else who is making extra money for their pocket. That excites me! To look back at my life 20 years ago that was not close to possible.
I have invested a lot in me. I knew I could not make more money on my own or it would have already happened. The greatest investment I have made for my education is learning business marketing where I get to help other people – mostly women – to step out of their own struggle and build an extra income. Some of the people I coach only want an extra $500 a month. That was me at one time. $500 would have changed my budget to such a comfort level as a single mom!
Invest, Learn, Teach
Invest…take your money and invest in yourself through training and seminars, and courses from others.
Learn…take the time to go through and learn what you’ve purchased
Teach…take what you’ve invested in, learn it and teach it to others.
If people pay for training and courses from others, it’s like they have skin in the game and they take it more serious.
The biggest hold back I hear from people is. “I can’t afford to get training” “Can you just give me some tips to get me started?”
I can give you lots of tips – structures to put in place and things to work on just like I did in my book “MLM Blueprint Secrets” but if you are not coaching with me and you get stuck you are no better off than you were before.
Trust me… when I started coaching with other people. I did not have the money but I took the course and used every single piece of information they gave me. With every nugget, I was given it was used and then I reached out for more. I didn’t make money as soon as I started in business but that very first $100 check was enough for me to keep going. I have added commas and more zeros to that number since then.
Money is a vehicle to do things you can not do without money. It is not noble to be broke. It is not Godly to live in lack. People use God as an excuse to not grow. If you are reading this he may have put you in a place to actually read this message. Think about that.
The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) tells a story about people who were given talents to use for the greater good. If you have a talent (and you do) a story to share (and you do) that can help someone else it is your duty to get the message out. It may not be with a business but you have a mission.
Whew… that was a lot.
