When people think about joining a network marketing company they begin talking about the products like a commercial. They are wearing the shirts, the hats, carrying the logo on their bags, prospecting to every human who walks within breathing distance of them.
People think that the more people know what company they are in the better the chance of them getting new clients. People get confused when you talk about marketing and tell them not to talk about their company but to brand themselves and provide great value – which is teaching.
People are curious by nature and the more curious they are about what you have the more questions they will ask. If someone has had a bad experience with someone else in the same company because of the way they presented the information and they see the company name connected with you, they would not have reached out. However, if they liked how you presented yourself as a brand it changes how they will look at what you have to offer
When people get so excited about their opportunity they can confuse clients or overwhelm them from the beginning and they will do nothing instead.
How to start branding yourself.
1. Be known as someone who provides value. Creating content on a blog.
2. Find your target market – who are you talking too
3. Build an email list. This is where your money will be for your business
4. Add your photo of you on all of your platforms so people will know who you are
5. Become a problem solver for the people who are looking for help. Which is everyone but you have to focus on a small portion of those clients.
6. Use social media to brand you and not your company
When you connect with someone and you slam them with your company before you find out what they need it will close the door to connecting. I have people every day connect with me on social media and say hello then here is the link to their company. It is a turn-off.
Connect – find out by having a normal conversation what they are looking for and if it is the right time. You don’t need a script to have a conversation. If the timing is right to mention what you have to offer. If not stay in touch with them and build the connection/relationship. Not everybody will be ready to start with you on the first conversation. It may take time and more conversations through email, social media, maybe one on one. You are not going to shake someone’s hand and BAM they like you and hand you their visa card.
Work on you. Work on your brand
Learn to provide value and people will be more attracted to you. I add 2-4 people a month to my network marketing company – every month – by not chasing people.
