Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. – http://www.dol.gov/laborday/history.htm
Today is a day of grilling out with friends and family – Americans like to eat when there is anything to celebrate – it is at time to hang out at home and begin prepping for the cool days of the year.
This is my first labor free holiday in 25 years. I have had a lot to celebrate this year with small steps at a time since I retired in December. I have taken the time to be aware of what all I missed the 25 years I worked for my family at a job. It was a normal activity that I missed many holidays. I would hear about them when I got home and even if it was not a big deal at the gathering…I missed it.
Today I celebrate new freedom because I am working at home. I have a calendar that is my work schedule and I set times that work for me and my family. I no longer miss any event big or small.
I want to share with you a post from one of my top distributors in a home business. She has as much to celebrate today as I do. When she signed the paper to become a team member she was no holds bar – I call her my ‘bulldozer’ because she goes at her business hard and works like no other team member. She and her team added 144 new members to their team in 30 days. She has worked in the radio industry for 18 years – she was the voice they heard at 4 am – she was the smile that beamed the airways.
Not only was she good at what she did – she had a large following that listened to her daily. She has a heart of gold – she loves people and it shows from the very first moment you meet her in person. Which I had the privilege of doing this summer in Washington at a business retreat.
Retiring from a job is most people’s dream. I did it at the age of 48, she did it at the age of her middle 30s. It is a dream come true but it is still quite the transition. As I told her to prepare for an emotional roller coaster there is really no way to get your mind ready for the shift that comes with leaving the ‘normal’ of a day job of 18 years.
She posted this message on Facebook:
I am excited for her. She has so much coming her way. Such a good teacher, the smart gal in presentations. You will be able to listen to Sarah and me chat on Blab – the new platform to live stream with up to 4 people in video format and a chat section to join us. However, it will only be us two chattings it up in the video stream about social media, list building, and growing strong online.
If you are in business – you must know your WHY that gets you out of bed and pushes you when it is boring and the results are small. You have to know your why so strong that you move forward when the money is not quite where you thought it should be.
For the next 10 days, I will be interviewing 6-7 earning business experts that are sharing their secrets – sharing how they began – what pushed them forward – and why they continued. They were like the Sarah in this article they had a vision and stayed focused. If that is you please join me on this amazing summit of 21 speakers who are going to tell you what it is they did – no holds bar – as we say in the south.
Before I go today…. meet mine why. These two push me…. they make me want to be better – more so I can share with the world to make others better. I am a leading example for these two to go for their vision and make it happen. The gift was placed inside of you because you are the only one who can do it your way.
Oh and before you go…. scroll down to the comments…. tell me you’re why. I want to know.
