People are getting sick and tired of being over charged for no results or products that are already out of date by the time they finish the course/ebook/ video . I have personally spent over $50,000 on my online education and I understand how it feels to be sucked out of my hard earned money.
I have bought products and wondered where was the meat in the products … did I miss something… and I would read it over again and again. Even if I paid as little as $17 bucks I still wanted to get something out of a small package.
I have paid people for a service that never seemed to end the way I had in mind or the way I was promised. The only thing that happened as promised was the money transaction from my hand to theirs. Big promises and little results….it gets disgusting pretty quickly.
The online world has google at our fingertips you can learn almost anything if you search hard enough. I am pretty geeky for a lot of tasks. I may be slower at getting them done because I don’t practice the skill enough but I can do many skills.
People are wanting to learn how to use social media and the internet to make money. They are searching for a community to connect to and learn.
People are looking for directions on how to stand out and build a brand that speaks to them and their business. Small business owners need guidance, they want to be a part of something bigger.
They are tired of getting ripped off.
When someone comes to me to learn about marketing – I want to see them get results – real results. I want them to be able to see how value they are as a brand, and how to market to their niche. People should not need to hire me as a mentor long term.
As Social Media, Expert Gary Vaynerchuk says. “You are either in front of the shift or left in the dust”
Of course, we are all going to have to pay for our education – and most people don’t mind. What they want to do is learn!
