Most people live day to day in survival mode, meaning they work a job that pays just enough to make it until next payday. People need money for the basics of life, for rent, for their family, etc. When all their income goes away, building a future residual income isn’t the best option for most people. They live in debt
Some people plainly need a job, not a full-time business. Those that are in a job they are not in love with are usually looking for the next best thing to show up.
When I began my business I still worked a full-time job, working night shift raising two boys who were busy. I didn’t have any more spare time than you do and if you added more than two hours of sleep to my day I am not sure I had spare time. I wrote my blog post on my blackberry on my lunch breaks and listed to training calls on three 15 mins breaks during my shift.
What I knew for sure was that I didn’t want to continue this cycle for another 25 years.
Working part-time on a full-time dream
I knew where I wanted to go but I was not surer than you are as to how to get there. I was exhausted most of the time, on a baseball field or work. Vacations were not in existence, and extra money was something that came from a note we had attached to the house.
Seriously debt drives me nuts and stresses me out. My husband and I would deposit two full-time checks and pray nothing happened in between the next bills and the next baseball tournament.
I started a part time business and began listening to training calls, reading blogs from people who were in the industry of network marketing. I hired a business coach on credit (crazy crazy).
I looked at myself as a student in college learning and applying as I went. The difference was as I learned and applied my new skills and the debt was slowly leaving too.
The debt didn’t go away over night but working my part time business was bringing in enough that we had some spending money and were able to pay off $10,000 in credit card debt in less than 90 days.
The next year were able to get rid of a 25,000 note we used to remodel the house.
The next year we actually took a small vacation with the boys.
Debt is heavy
The stress of living pay check to pay check is so stressful. It creates worry that prevents sleep, effects your eating choices and the places that you hang out.
How long should we do network marketing to get some experience? Well, it could be just the summer months before we start our own university. Or, maybe a semester or two. And for some of us, it might take a long time to decide what we really want to do in life.
What I do know if you have debt against your name a part time business brings in lots of benefits you don’t have as a person working a job. Things in your normal life can become a tax deduction, business trips to learn how to run your business can be a mini vacation and a right off. In the meantime, you can be generating an extra $500 -$1000 to crush your debt.
Most people want to go a 2nd job to pay off the debt but then they are away from home more than before and will slip into the make more – spend more mode. With a business…. you now have deductions and an income that can continue to grow without hitting the ceiling.
