In the realm of professional networking, mastering your LinkedIn Growth Strategy is akin to unlocking a treasure chest of opportunities.
It took me 17 years to earn my Top Voice badge. Then, astonishingly, I earned four more in just 30 days. My journey on LinkedIn has been transformative, not just for my career but for my understanding of what it means to truly engage with a platform.
Now, I’m here to share how you can embark on this journey too.
The Cornerstone of Growth: Start Where You Are
Start where you are, not where your friend or colleague is. This mantra is as true on LinkedIn as it is in life. Personal growth on LinkedIn begins with showing up for yourself, crafting your narrative, and engaging authentically with your network.
Here’s a glimpse into my journey:
- 2007: My LinkedIn saga began with little fanfare. My initial posts vanished into the ether, met with silence in a platform that felt overwhelmingly spammy.
- 2018: The tide began to turn as I embraced consistency in my posts and engagement.
- 2021: A significant milestone was launching my LinkedIn newsletter, quickly amassing 2,400 subscribers.
- 2022 & 2023: Transitioned into a content creator role and was awarded four Top Social Media Voice badges, marking my presence.
- 2024: My follower count has surged to an incredible 8500, setting the stage for even greater achievements.
My LinkedIn growth has been propelled by the connections I’ve made and a commitment to authenticity and reflection. It’s about creating the conversations I longed for and writing authentically in a way that resonates with me and my audience. I’m grateful for every interaction with the incredible individuals on this platform.
The Magic of LinkedIn: Finding Your Tribe
LinkedIn‘s power lies in its ability to foster connections when you engage in a manner true to yourself. It’s about finding your tribe through genuine interaction and shared narratives.
What’s Next in My LinkedIn Journey?
- I plan to continue enriching my regular newsletter, which is now searchable on major search engines.
- Exploring audio chats and offering training sessions to share how LinkedIn can be a fun and impactful platform.

Top LinkedIn Strategy Insights:
- Engaging through comments is as crucial as posting. Make each interaction count.
- You get one per day per day to be seen on Linkedin. Focus on quality and unique perspectives. Make that post count.
- Be mindful of including links in your posts, as they can affect visibility.
- Google catalogs LinkedIn Newsletters and Articles, turning them into miniature webpages.
Thank you for being a part of my community. Let me nudge you if you’re on the fence about making your first post. Go for it, even if:
– You work for a company, not yourself. Remember to be you.
– You wonder if you’re ready to start. You are more prepared than you think.
– You believe you have nothing to say. Your voice matters.

Notes I took from an event I followed: Top #SMMW Takeaways About LinkedIn:
– 🏼 Commenting (not just posting) is a powerful way to reach more people. Think of each comment you respond to as a new conversation. Engage and make it worth reading.
– 🏼 You can share ONE post per day that appears in the feed, so make it count. There’s no need to overwhelm with multiple posts. Instead, if the information is easily found on Google, enrich your post by adding your unique perspective, making it distinctly yours.
Once you’ve made your post, dedicate 30 minutes to an hour to engaging with comments. This interaction enriches your post and fosters a vibrant community dialogue, enhancing your presence on the platform.
– 🏼 Be cautious with post links; they might reduce your visibility (LinkedIn limits views by 50%, and link previews cut views by 75%).
– 🏼 Google catalogs LinkedIn Newsletters and Articles, turning them into miniature webpages.
– 🏼 Contributing to recommended thought leadership articles helps; these appear in your newsfeed and don’t count against your daily post limit.
