You see posts constantly, spamming your Facebook, your email, and out on the Google monster. If you are like me, you have even clicked on them to see what they had to say.
Yes, some of those ads are straight crap. Not all of it is Bull-longa. However, we are now gun-shy that so many are fake ads or leading you down a miss leading path.
No Lottery Lifestyle
There’s no lottery lifestyle where you rake in cash and then sit back and drink adult drinks all day by the pool. Those images are AFTER the hard work has been put in, and you have fewer hours you have to put in because you are spending it with high-quality leads.
It’s hard work when you are cold-calling people who really could care less what you have to say. Generating leads that are excited for you to call them, and sometimes they are even shocked a natural person has called, now that is when it gets fun!
Seasoned marketers are people who generate 25-100 leads a day. Which is possible with the systems we have in place. I am averaging 6-10 a day to speak with and see what they have in mind for business or product. Then I know which system to share with them.
Not everyone who is looking for good products wants to sell them. They want to use it. They may tell their mom, sister, or brother, but that doesn’t mean they want to become sellers. If you press those people to sell, they will walk away from you, annoyed plus… you lose them as a good customer. Most marketers miss the point of not just what a customer wants in a product but who they know inside their network (sound familiar? Network marketing)
Determine the Need
What were you looking for when they came to the website?….
Pause… and Listen (I know this is the strange part)
If they are looking for something to help them sleep at night, why would I go off on a tangent about building a dream business when all they want to do is, have a good night’s sleep and be able to dream about lollipop pops?
Connect with the Lead
People know within 30 seconds if you are about to switch lanes in the conversation. They also know if you are sincere with the information you give them. I had a person I knew who could not carry on a normal conversation because she was too busy talking. Very little listening. She could not figure out why she could not get new customers.
I don’t want to talk business with someone who wants a product. The conversation goes south quickly, and you will also lose the customer.
People like to talk about themselves… listen… they will tell you what they are looking for and their pain points.
Laptop Lifestyle
At the beginning of this wild ride called network marketing, I would attend events and wonder how those people got on those stages. They talked about the freedom lifestyle; some sounded like bull hockey.
Like big glamor stories that were too good to be true, I found myself sitting on Ray Higdon’s stage telling my story. I lived all the lumps and bumps it took to get this far. Not that I expected it to be a paved highway from there, but I knew I was headed in a solid direction.

The laptop lifestyle comes with a price. Whether it was to have the extra $500 or $5000, it is possible. It has a significant learning curve that is quite the journey. What I have learned is not what I started out looking for. This journey we call business takes you on a self-discovery that only you can experience to share with others.
There is no overnight success. Those people worked in the dark for a long time before the lights finally shone in their corners.
You have skills to learn.
You have work to do
You have people to meet
You have systems to learn
Lots of people to talk to, and half of them will tell you no… or no, not right now.
All of this…. is possible.

Great Point Angela, I hate when people think someone’s success happened overnight. I believe that this is very small thinking on their part. Unfortunately, people only see the end-result. But never see the beginning and the middle, and we all know that there is a beginning and a middle. The beginning and the middle are not the most pleasant parts, but something that must be endured. Big thinkers know this.
