After spending 25 1/2 years in nursing at a mental health hospital as a nurse, I never really knew how much it was teaching me about sales. At the time that was not my focus – my focus was to encourage our patients to become interested in taking care of themselves. We wanted them to see how important bathing, eating good food, changing clothes daily and taking medication that worked for them to be able to go back home and live out in the community as a productive citizen. To stop adding alcohol and street drugs to their lifestyle that lead them down negative paths.
I never once looked at the skill in nursing as a sales job but it was. I was selling them good health habits to help their life become better. I wanted to see them successful in making changes that would lead them to a better life. I wasn’t being a slimy salesperson – I was being honest with them with the plan of seeing better results over all.
When I retired from nursing and became a fulltime network marketing professional, I still wanted to see the clients I come in contact with have results that changed their life and make the new path of business give them better results with their health – and wealth.

It has taken a lot of new skill upgrades, mindset training to reach a level of confidence to market a business online and one on one with people.
