Building a business online or off line takes some skills. Asking the right questions makes a big difference in how your customers and prospects respond to you. Asking questions that lead back to the answer no – ends the conversation before it gets started. I have listened to people talk about their business to someone else and it makes my skin crawl when they dive straight into the sales before they actually find out if the person is the right prospect for the offer.
Just because they have a pulse and are standing close enough for you to spew your message doesn’t mean they are the right person for your opportunity.
The trick is to ask the right questions and they will give you their own answers. Most people will answer their own problem if you are willing to listen and ask questions to allow them to give you the answers. In the answers are the opportunity to share your message.
The moment you go into super sales mode and are drooling over their wallet they will back up and find and exit. Relax and allow them to lean in and learn from you – and what you have to share.
