Studies have shown that office’ can be deadly because of the stress of the job. It also takes up a 1/3 of your day just commuting to and from work. I drove 35 minutes to work and 35 minutes home every day, a total of an hour driving. I bought two tanks of gas a week at $40 a tank (of course the gas was almost $5 a gallon too)

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being happy I was a miserable with a score of minus two
I had worked 22 years on the 6pm to 7am three days a week shift to be able to be in my family life more – but I was always so tired, worn down and not always feeling my best. Everyone said I would feel so much better sleeping at night so I moved to the 6:45am to 3:15pm 5 days a week. I was even more tired and had to use the weekends to catch up on sleep and house duties plus attempt to spend time with my family before Monday rolled back around. On top of less time, less sleep, and more stress I gained 20 lbs from lack of energy to do the power walking I had always done.
It was time to make a change in what I did every day. I wanted to stop living my life around someone elses permission slips, evaluations and lunch breaks. I started working from home and did what it took to learn everything I could from people who had already traveled that path.
