What exactly does success mean to you?

Success is a word everyone in business is reaching and striving for. Most really don’t know what it even looks like. For each person who is on that path has a different view of what it looks and smells like. Some people want to carry the $500-$3000 purses and watches. Or drive the cars that mean success, or live in houses that are in the right neighborhood or side of town that means success.

I am pretty simple. I want to live debt free.

I want money in the bank to pay for simple things for my family that we enjoy. This past week my son joined the archery club. He lights up talking about shooting a bow. I mentioned we needed to go look at a bow at the archery shop. Once inside we bought ALL the supplies he needed to get started and a few extra. He said “Thanks Mom, that cost a lot of money.”

There was a time in my life I wasn’t as fortunate as my son. The day I remember very vividly is the day I had $5 bill in my hand and I bought not one coke but a whole 6 pack. (I made them last a long time.) Buying a coke doesn’t sound like a big deal but abundant food was not on my table when I first got out on my own.Now that I have a business that is bringing in success I have to set boundaries around me and “me time” Healthy boundaries are a very necessary thing in this high tech, low touch society we live in. People will take what you allow them to take, until you get clear on what is and isn’t ok with you. And remember just because you’re not busy, doesn’t mean you’re available
