We have all heard the fluff and puff of how great a business can be…you know the big cars – the lifestyle… travel all over the world while you make money while you sleep.
The importance of entrepreneurship …it is also a lot of work behind the scenes to make it that way for any entrepreneur. The work is what no one wants to talk about and they wonder why the failure rate is so high. People need to know to build an empire it will take lots of bricks, mortar and labor.
There are many types of entrepreneurship, but the one thing they are have in common is time … time to build….time to grow…time to learn. The benefits of entrepreneurship come after all three have seasoned together over ….time.
In a facebook group that I belong to a very wise lady posted the “Reality of Entrepreneurship” and I received her permission to post it here and share it with you.
Reality of Entrepreneurship
Most people talk about what you get when you become an entrepreneur.
The freedom lifestyle
Being your own boss
Unlimited passive income
But, nobody talks about what you ‘give up’ the moment you choose to become an entrepreneur.
You can’t wait to escape your 9 to 5 and live a peaceful life with lots and lots of freedom. But what you often don’t realize is that you’re replacing it with a 9 to 9 (sometimes, way more than that).
Benefits of Entrepreneurship
They tell you that you can travel the world, take vacations and work from anywhere in the world. But they don’t tell you about the countless hours that you must spend finding all the pieces of the entrepreneurial puzzle and then, putting them together.
Nobody tells you about those sleepless nights when you won’t be able to stop thinking about where you’ll get new clients or whether you’ll be able to pay your next bill or not.
Nobody talks about the times when you won’t be able to help but bang your head against the wall and cry out of frustration. Nobody talks about the self-doubt that will creep in multiple times a day, the nasty little voice that will often tell you that you’re a failure, you should go back to your corporate job and live a ‘normal’ life.
Role of Entrepreneurship
Nobody tells you you’ll often judge your own abilities, compare yourself to others and feel like crap for not making the same amount of money as them.
And lastly, nobody tells you that you’d most probably need to downgrade your lifestyle before you can finally upgrade it.
Entrepreneurship is not always a bed of roses, my friend.
You gotta cross the bushes to reach the roses. And you need to sacrifice a lot to achieve your dreams.
