How to Build a Business While Working Full Time

If you want to build a business while working full time, you need a plan that goes beyond wishful thinking. Many people assume they have to quit their job to start, but that is a mistake. To build a business while working full time effectively, you have to treat your side project like a professional venture, not a hobby. Over my 4.5-year journey, I learned that you don’t need to sacrifice your stability to build a business while working full time; you just need to be smarter with your hours.

The big question for most people, they have no idea what they really want to do. They are stuck in the mindset of working for someone
else and if you are not working at a job your not happy and life is not going well.

When I retired I remember how nervous I was the closer the date came for me to say “this is my last day.” I had worked under someone elses rules for so long I did not know what my rules were. Once I stepped out of that door and headed home – nothing felt real, I didn’t know what to do with myself and it took a few days to stop wondering around the house.

It is important to me to show people they can work a full time job and a part time at home to get set up to make that move. People have the idea that you stop working and go for it without making any plans. Well that is totally crazy!

You still have bills – you still have food to buy and if you have kids they need things.

I worked part time in my business at home for 4 1/2 years until it reached a point to replace the income that I was used too – and make up for what a retirement check would give.
