Top 5 Reasons you cannot join me
I have been in marketing for over 5 years. I have used email marketing, phone prospecting (and now I don’t use the phone), auto responder marketing. social media marketing, face to face, mailing cards
handing out business cards, working events booths, giving away products (only to my committed team now)
Even after 25 years of working as a nurse in mental health I have heard lots of excuses and lots of rejection to live the dream life. However, people still amaze me by the replies they give me.
Honestly – you’re not going to hurt my feelings if you came out and said “Sounds like BS to me” or “I am not going to work hard enough to run a business” Call it like it is and stop making up excuses that even you don’t believe.
The Top 5 that I have heard the most are:
1) Sounds too good to me. If it sounds too good it can’t possibly be real.
Comment: Things that sound good come with real work to make them look good. No it will not be handed to you – juts like your job you have to show up daily and work it until the results show up. The average person doesn’t want to work for themselves that hard. They would rather complain about the person they do work for instead. All good to me.
2) I don’t have time.
Comment: You have 24 hours a day like any other marketer – what you choose to do with it is up to you. I worked 13 hours shifts 3 days a week raising one small boy and one busy baseball boy and still learned how to run my business on the go using mobil marketing.(I started with a black berry) I gave up TV and other sit and do nothing opportunities. I made a choice and went to work. I wanted this more than I could even explain to my own husband.
3) I need to ask…. (my husband, my wife, my girlfriend, my best friend who has never run a business, my neighbor because she is nice.)
Comment: First of all my husband would fall over with heart failure if I came in and ask “May I do….” (However I did ask him once….keep reading)
I understand discussing with someone to work things out in your head or pull the money together but seriously are you going to ask someone permission if you can learn to build a 6 figure business or even a $500 extra a month business. When the dream doesn’t belong to someone else they will not see the opportunity like you do. You have the vision – it is you that has to take action.
Do you really have to ask? or are you simply talking yourself out of it?
4) I can’t afford it.
Comment: BIG one!! I remember when we drove to Indianapolis to a business conference they made an offer from the stage and my whole body started shaking. I thought I was having a seizure. I broke out in a sweat, I started to cry (really I did) and I got up and went to the back of the room. One of my business coaches was sitting in the back and I said “There is something wrong with me.” He smiled, “What is going on – I told him. She mentioned the offer and I want to go so bad but I don’t have $3000 in the savings.” He said, “Do you have it somewhere else you can get too?” I said, “Let me call my husband.
I was shook up and my voice was shaking. “I said Dale – they have an opportunity to go to Chicago for one weekend to get one on one skill training but it is $3000!” He said, “Ok.” calm like he always is.
I said, “but… where is it going to come from?
Something that shocked me that he never says “Use the credit card, we will make it work – you have to get there.”
I practically ran to the front of the room with my form. That was the weekend I was introduced to Young Living Essential Oils – the company I have made 6-figures in. Not only did that credit card get paid off but in 3 months ALL of our bills be will gone.
5) I need to pray about it.
Comment: When you pray are you really listening for your answers? You prayed for help, a business, a change, a new way to grow your finances. Now you’re reading this blog post or you saw this story on social media – or you connected with me somewhere at an event or the store. I am sharing with you how I got started…. it sounds like your prayer! Did you ever think the answer is in front of you?
If you are still reading and none of those top 5 excuses are you – then you are ready to join my team.
I can show you how I built my business from the baseball park – my works parking lot on lunch and driving down the road (with my husband driving don’t freak out). I don’t have a fancy office – my ipad and iphone are in my bag and on the go with me.
