In the Social Media Profits group I challenged my coaching clients to blog every day for 21 days. There were several people in the group who had just started to blog and had the “submit” button fear of getting started.
I knew when I posted the challenge it was for me as much as for them, with me blogging along with them. Plus it gave them courage to get started. They have been blogging for 4 days and doing well.
One day last week I opened my email and Seth Godin posted a challenge that went along with what we were doing perfectly. I posted it in the group to also submit their post to Your Turn Challenge Blog site.
Blogging every day is a challenge because you don’t always have a great story to post or action taking business tip.
I once had someone tell me that your post had to be long and value packed before you posted to your blog. That caused “submit” fear to show up and I had a hard time posting in FEAR it was not good enough or provided the value my readers needed.
As I started following Seth’s Blog and Tim Ferris, and some other great bloggers I noticed some of their post were short and sweet. I liked the quick read – and the short links that were added to the post. I could read them on a mobile device easily. I have found that I no longer read lengthy post. I want to be able to read them on my phone which is always with me and I save post to read while I am waiting somewhere.
I have never posted everyday so this challenge was good for me to get my feet wet and set the example for the social media profits course.
