I have been asks over and over are mental hospitals haunted? Are there really ghost? Is the spiritual warfare real?
I don't know that I am qualified to say yes or no. All I know is what I have observed and seen.
When I wrote the story 'Angel's among us" http://angelabrook.com/angels-among-us/ and shared the many times a client has confirmed a prayer said on the way to work in the privacy of my vehicle. The angels that they have seen around me and described what the 'men' looked like, confirmed to me that they do walk among us.
Where there are angels walking there are always the souls that have something else attached to them. The lady who obviously had a unhappy spirit attached to her when she began calling out demands clearly in a man's voice. Had I not had six other people around me to witness the event – no one would ever believe what we saw and heard.
She was a tall medium framed woman with hair that looked as if it had not been combed in days. She sat in her bedroom as if it was a safe place to be. Until… he showed up, again. The noise coming from behind the door were two people having a conversation? One was powerful and one was scared. The man voice laughed and taunted with belittling statements and the women cried out to leave her alone – to go away in the name of Jesus go away.
As the door was opened wide, flipping the over head light on and extra staff available to remove the man from her room. Everyone stood in shock as only one person laid unkempt and frazzled in the bed. I ask "Who were you talking too?" The face of the person in front of me rose up and the whites of her eyes looked my way her reply made the hair on the back of my neck raise up and my skin crawl. "You don't know me?" I said, "No I don't" She laughed in a deep man's voice 'I am Johnny – big John. This is my bitch" I said, "Big John can I can you a PRN to help quieted you down?" The voice said, "You can" the lady sitting in the bed began thrashing her arms as if she was tring to escape from someone's grip. Begging to be turned loose, begging for Big John to go away. Her head snapped back and her body took a new form. She crawled down into the floor from her bed like a tigress animal. The form walked on her hands and knees out of the room and down the hall, slinking as if she were really an animal. The staff stood in amazement, eyes wide trying to believe what they were seeing. The staff slowly walked along side of her not knowing what to expect next.
She made comments that sounded like mumbles in the male voice. The posture of a cat slinked. The air was heavy and thick with pressure that kept you from stepping in. Halfway down the hall her body collapsed in a heap in the floor and the women who was captured inside by Big John was released. She lay in the floor and sobbed deep wailing tears. Repeating over and over 'I just want him to go away and leave me alone. I reach for Jesus and he cuts me off and laughs."
Was that a spiritual warfare? I cannot explain it any other way. I have seen the strength of two men in women that weighted less than 100 lbs; I have watched people throw themselves against the wall as if someone gave them a toss by the collar. I have heard voices come of people that could not be explained and behaviors that were clearly not a single mans power.
Do nurses pray? Yes!
When I have encounters of the unexplained in my presence I always ask in the name of Jesus for all spirits to be washed away and not attach to me as I leave the building and all dust fall from my shoes.
I have watched people hold the bible – read then turn into a cursing mania within seconds.
The many who have shared with me what they see, how they are touched and the tortured they feel with the spiritual warfare that lies within them.
I cannot speak for the average nurse but this nurses prays before and after a shift. If my Jesus armor want walk in before me I ain't going in either.
When a man can stand in front of me and see the angels standing beside me giving a description of height, clothes, and posture. Then begin screaming with true painful tears roll down his face because he is being tortured by a man with a pitch fork stabbing him rectally over and over. It makes me know spiritual warfare is real. Not all mental illness struggles with spiritual warfare the key word is some do.
In Mark 5 we see a man totally out of his mind touched by God's power and immediately restored. Ephesians 6:10 speaks about it again. I am not a doctor and have no desire to psycho analyze a person. I do believe that God has every answer we need and his spirit can lead us either to a doctor or an alter for help, or maybe even to a praying nurse.
A nurse is a warrior that steps in front of many battles. It would be silly to go into battle without a breastplate. Prayer is a sword that can only be sharpened when used. The recipe for victory.
