Designing a life, not just making a living

by Angela Brooks

The Designing a life of American dream is to live the life style that you want to live…. do what you want to do… and go when and where you want too.

The big question for most people, they have no idea what they really want to do. They are stuck in the mindset of working for someone
else and if you are not working at a job your not happy and life is not going well.

When I retired I remember how nervous I was the closer the date came for me to say “this is my last day.” I had worked under someone elses rules for so long I did not know what my rules were. Once I stepped out of that door and headed home – nothing felt real, I didn’t know what to do with myself and it took a few days to stop wondering around the house.

It is important to me to show people they can work a full time job and a part time home business to get set up to make that move. People have the idea that you stop working and go for it without making any plans. Well that is totally crazy!

You still have bills – you still have food to buy and if you have kids they need things.

I worked part time in my business at home for 4 1/2 years until it reached a point to replace the income that I was used too – and make up for what a retirement check would give.

In the Social Media Profits I give my clients all I have – and teach them what I did to make my business work while I had a job. We are on Day 15 of a 21 day blogging challenge and I am doing it right along with them. Follow along with the Twitter Hashtag #Thrive2015 #YourTurnChallenge
